SUMMARY
A private family based in Montreal is looking for an experienced Private Chef to plan, prepare and serve the daily meals of the household. The successful candidate will bring excellent culinary skills, a sharp sense of organization, discretion and adaptability, and will deliver a personalized dining experience that matches the principal's preferences and requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design menus.
- Create and prepare fresh, seasonal meals for lunch and dinner.
- Prepare and cook two meals a day for the employer and guests.
- Prepare staff meals as needed.
- Set the table and plate the service.
- Keep an inventory of the freezers, refrigerators and pantries.
- Clean the kitchen and uphold its standards of cleanliness.
- Run errands, including grocery shopping.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the workplace.
- Work alongside the other household staff.
- Relocate to the countryside for the summer season.
- Handle special requests.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Solid grounding in French cuisine.
- Able to execute the recipes provided.
- Minimum of five years of experience working in fine dining kitchens.
- Graduate of a culinary institute.
- Food hygiene and safety certification.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Command of French, spoken and written.
- Real passion for cooking, proactive and able to anticipate.
- Able to adapt to the family's specific tastes.
- High professional ethics and strong communication skills.
- Discreet, detail oriented and well presented.
- Always maintains professional conduct and confidentiality.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Vehicle in good condition.
- Legal status to work in Canada.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Working days: Wednesday to Sunday.
- Working hours: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with flexibility required.
- Live-out position, which may become live-in while in Magog.
