SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced, organized, discreet and versatile Housekeeper to take care of the upkeep and daily running of a private residence in Laval.
The successful candidate will keep the home clean, tidy, well kept and comfortable. She or he will also be responsible for preparing the evening meal each day, ready to serve or reheat depending on the family's needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Housekeeping and household organization
- Keep the rooms in use clean, including surface cleaning, dusting and floor care.
- Carry out deep cleaning as needed, in particular the bathrooms, shower, oven, terrace and balconies.
- Keep the home in good order and make sure living areas are always clean, tidy and welcoming.
- Make the beds and change the linens as needed.
- Tidy and organize storage areas, wardrobes and personal belongings.
- Rotate food in the refrigerator and pantry.
- Bring out, store and organize seasonal clothing.
- Prepare the clothing and items needed for stays at the country house.
- Care for furniture, delicate surfaces and items requiring particular attention.
- Make sure the whole residence stays functional, clean and well organized at all times.
Laundry and garment care
- Sort, wash, fold and iron clothing.
- Provide general care for garments and textiles.
- Carry out minor repairs as needed.
- Keep wardrobes well organized and in order.
Cooking and meal preparation
- Prepare the evening meal each day.
- Cook simple, balanced and healthy meals.
- Make sure meals are ready to serve or reheat according to the instructions given.
- Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and well organized after preparing meals.
Household and logistical support
- Receive contractors during work or service calls at the residence.
- Be a professional and courteous point of contact for suppliers and outside providers.
- Supervise work on site as needed and pass on any relevant information.
- Manage waste, recycling and related household tasks.
- Report any situation at the residence that requires attention.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a housekeeper, household employee or in the upkeep of a private residence.
- Enjoys cooking and is comfortable preparing simple, healthy family meals.
- Excellent sense of organization and strong attention to detail.
- Discretion, reliability, honesty and professionalism.
- Able to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Proactive, thorough, versatile and committed to work well done.
- Respect for confidentiality and for the family environment.
- Good adaptability and a positive attitude.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Permanent full-time position.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Location: Laval.
